Florida Man Busted for Hit-and-Run with a 26-Foot Sailboat

Palm Beach Gardens (WTFF) – Palm Beach County Deputies say a Titusville man was driving a 26-foot sailboat when he hit another vessel in the Intracoastal Waterway near Palm Beach Gardens and fled the scene.

James Sowell was out riding his blue sailboat with a red kayak on the side on Wednesday, November 28, 2017.

He’s from Titusville, which is over 150 miles away from where he was spotted.

Florida Man Tries Jumping a Canal with his Corolla

LEE COUNTY, Fla — Lee County Sheriff Deputies say a man attempted to jump a canal with his car in a Lehigh Acres neighborhood overnight.

It happened along 7th Street West in Lehigh Acres.

Witnesses say they saw a man in a blue Toyota Corolla drive to the edge of the canal and stop. Then, he got out of the car to observe the distance, got back into the vehicle and tried to make the jump of about 20 feet.

Fire Ants Attack a Tampa Man in SUV, Causing Vehicle to Flip Over on I-10

Fire ants are blamed for causing a Tampa man to roll his Ford Explorer last week on Interstate 10 in Madison County.

After fire ants started biting him on his legs, Louis Marino lost control. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The 85-year-old had parked the SUV in a Tampa storage area during Hurricane Irma, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. There was food stored in the rear of the vehicle. When Marino got in the SUV, he didn’t notice the ants on the driver’s side floorboard. Full Story »

Florida delivery man hit by police car and then arrested

A Jimmy John’s delivery cyclist was hit in a downtown crosswalk Thursday afternoon by a Miami police officer driving an unmarked car.

But it was the sandwich deliveryman who went to jail. For 12 hours.

Mason Morales was arrested for criminal mischief after he threw his bike against the car in anger, then handcuffed in the middle of the street and placed in a cell at the Turner Guilford Knight Correction Center until his mother bailed him out at 3 a.m. Friday. Full Story »
