PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Pasco County woman was charged with attempted murder after deputies say she set her estranged husband’s bed on fire while he was sleeping in it.
James Brennan, age 58, told investigators that he is estranged from his wife Eva Brennan, age 48, who no longer lives with him at his home in New Port Richey.
James said that on Wednesday, a female was visiting his house when Eva stopped by. During her visit, Eva told him she was angry that another woman was at the house. Eva left the house in the early evening and then James went to sleep in his bed. Full Story »
Shaun Sparks, 33, and Christy Michelle Vincent, 27, both of Lakeland, face charges after trying to sell an alligator tail that Sparks had cut off. [Polk County Sheriff’s Office]A Lakeland man faces charges after he killed an alligator, cut off its tail and tried to sell the meat to neighbors, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
A licensed alligator trapper found the seven foot alligator with stab wounds to the head and missing its tail at Lake Parker on Sunday night.
During the FWC’s investigation, several witnesses said Shaun Edward Sparks, 33, of 1816 W. Lake Parker Dr. in Lakeland, had tried to sell them the alligator tail. Officers who arrived at Sparks’ house found the three-foot long appendage.
Sparks “spontaneously uttered that he stabbed the alligator with a large knife, then cut off its tail,” his arrest report said. Full Story »

Police handcuffed an anti-LGBT protestor outside Orlando’s Pulse nightclub today, the one-year anniversary of the brutal attack on the nightclub that left 49 dead and many more wounded.
The unnamed suspect was one of three demonstrators holding signs reading homophobic messages like “Sin = Death” and “Warning: All homos will burn like faggots in hell”
As he was cuffed, the crowds chanted “Love conquers hate.” Full Story »
Holly Fisher, 46, a mother of three, went on her rampage at 12:23 a.m. Saturday inside the North Port house she shared with her husband, Jason “Chase” Fisher, also 46, the Herald Tribune reported.
Her husband was wounded in the hand and chest and rushed to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, the paper said.
Holly Fisher, a sixth-grade teacher at nearby Heron Creek Middle School, then turned the gun on herself.

It was unclear what prompted Fisher to go off the rails or whether the couple’s three kids were present.
Jason showed no animus toward his wife in a statement he made to the North Port Sun newspaper from his hospital bed after being shot.
“I just want to address that my wife and I deeply love each other and regardless of what has happened, that love persists,” Fisher said. Full Story »
