Pensacola (WTFF) – A Florida man was arrested on battery and arson charges for reportedly leaving his naked wife at the side of a highway after a beach trip and setting her car on fire.
This all happened on Saturday, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, as reported by WEAR TV.
Deputies found 55-year-old Donald Allen Moran and another male, later identified as the victim, both in the front yard of a home on Gregg Road.
A burnt 2013 Infiniti car was parked nearby.
The victim told ECSO that he witnessed Moran pour an orange gas can into the driver’s side of the vehicle before lighting it on fire.
The good Samaritan grabbed a water hose and started spraying out the fire so it wouldn’t spread, and also called the fire department.
Moran walked over to the man’s house and slapped him in the face.
The victim put Moran on the ground and held him there until the cops arrived.
Deputies were looking to speak with Moran’s wife, but couldn’t find her.
Her sister-in-law said she was okay, and that she’d been at the beach all day.
The wife told deputies that Moran left her on Scenic Highway naked.
She had to wave down a citizen that was driving by, who took her to her sister’s house.
Moran was arrested and charged with two felonies: Battery and Arson. His bond remains at $25,000.
