Drug Induced Hallucinations Compel Florida Couple to Call Police

Tatum Guyer James Turner

JUPITER FARMS – A woman called 911 Monday afternoon. Three men were on her Jupiter Farms driveway, she told a dispatcher. One had a rifle. Another was trying to enter the home.

What Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office authorities first thought was a home invasion turned out to be that woman’s cocaine- and Xanax-fueled hallucination, records state.

Tatum Guyer, 26, and James Turner, 40, fled the home in a pickup. When sheriff’s authorities caught up to them, they insisted one of the men was in the bed of the truck.

Except that no one was in the bed or at the home, sheriff’s authorities said.

Turner told police he and Guyer had taken cocaine and Xanax. Authorities found oxycodone, cocaine and alprazolam — the generic name for Xanax — on Turner and in the truck.

He was arrested on multiple drug possession charges, and Guyer was arrested on a charge of misusing 911.

Turner was released Tuesday from the Palm Beach County Jail on a $12,000 surety bond. Guyer was released on her own recognizance.

Beyond traffic-related violations, neither Turner nor Guyer appear to have a criminal history in Palm Beach County.
