Florida Man charged with kidnapping after mistaking a bike for his son’s.

A Lehigh Acres man is facing felony robbery and kidnapping charges after he took a teen’s bike and forced the youth to come to his home, claiming the bike was his son’s.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said that Christian Javier, 43, stopped a 15-year-old boy on Xelda Avenue in Lehigh Acres around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Javier, driving a white Ford F150, forced the teen to stop and told him “That’s my son’s bike.”  He tossed the bike into his truck and forced the youth to ride with him.

The report said Javier then drove to his home. Once at the Crawford Avenue address, Javier asked his son if the bike was his. The son told his father that the bike was not his.

The report said that Javier then put the bike back in the truck and drove the teen and the bike to another spot where he told the youth to get out and threw the bike onto the road.

The teen’s 12-year-old brother, who had been riding a bike with him, followed the truck for a time and then rode home to tell his mother. The teen’s mother signed a desire to prosecute affidavit.

Javier, whom was arrested at his home Tuesday, remains in Lee County jail on $125,000 bond and is scheduled for a Feb. 27 court date.
