To everyone watching this video… the behavior is exactly what NOT to do if you see a wild bear out here in Florida.
Please don’t make eye contact with them, and for fuck’s sake… please don’t say “Hey buddy…” to invite them over, as tempting as that may be. While they probably won’t rip your face off (they might, and they could very easily), that kind of behavior trains them not to fear humans. Not everyone wants to that close to a bear, and the more comfortable they feel around us, the more they will get shot by freaked out newbies, or once in a while decide to eat somebody because they’re hungry. It happens, we all gotta eat…
But when his neighbor called him over to deal with a bear on Saturday afternoon in Lake Mary, Florida, the 72-year-old retired firefighter pulled out his camera instead.
