A Newberry man was arrested after threatening to kill his wife and their visitors, according to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
This man also beat a Hispanic man in November 2016 while yelling, “This is for Donald Trump!” and “Let’s Trump down!”

Caleb Joseph Illig, 24, was detained by Gainesville police officers in connection with a possible battery while in downtown Gainesville, the report states. The person involved didn’t want to pursue criminal charges.
When Illig returned to his home with his wife and two friends, he said they didn’t stick up for him while he was detained.
Illig told them to leave his house and threatened to shoot them, the report states. He pulled out a shotgun, and the three left the residence. Illig got in his truck and followed them, his gun in the passenger seat.
Illig’s wife was able to call the Sheriff’s Office.
Illig was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault and was in the Alachua County jail, where bond was set at $100,000.
