Old Lady Drives Car into Marion County Sheriff’s Office

If you thought you had a bad day yesterday, at least you didn’t drive through the front doors of a Sheriff’s Office…

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6th, a 62 year old female was pulling into the parking lot of the MCSO Dunnellon District Office located at 19995 SW 86th Street. The woman was operating the vehicle with hand controls when she entered the parking space and did not stop…instead, she went right through the front doors of our office. No one was injured during this incident…our secretary had JUST stepped away from her desk before this happened…WOW!! We are so thankful everyone is ok…

The driver’s vehicle sustained close to $1,000 of damage and our district office sustained $10,000 worth of damage. The driver was cited by FHP for careless driving.
