The infamous “eyesore on I-4” in Altamonte Springs, near exit 94…
For those who don’t know, the “Majesty Building” is a religious con job that started construction in 2001, and has yet to have been finished as of 2017.
Every single year, SuperChannel 55 President Claud Bowers says he plans to finish the building. And every year it just stays there, incomplete, while the donations pour in.
In February of 2017, Bowers once again said he plans to “complete the self-funded, pay-as-you-go project within a year to 18 months,” according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Don’t hold your breath though. For 16 years he’s been saying that, which is why this building is so important to Florida… it exemplifies our inability to complete anything of value. It also shows how you can slap the word “Christian” on anything, and gullible people will give you tax-free money.
Even Orlando Weekly says “OK. sure.” in sarcastic disbelief to the claim that this building will ever be finished. “Here’s to another 16 years,” they write.
“It has a lot to do with Christianity and I think people accept the fact that whether it’s done or not, it represents something,” said resident Ronald Baird to WFTV. Reporter Len Kiese called Bowers to see if there was a definitive completion date on the project, but has not heard back.
SuperChannel 55 gives no completion date on their website, nor do they even technically promise to finish it ever, but they are still accepting donations.
