A car rolled into a Jacksonville Winn-Dixie on Wednesday morning, off New Berlin Road in Oceanway.
News4jax.com reports that the driver is believed to be a woman in her 60s or 70s. She was taken to the hospital, and might have a medical issue.
Her friend said that the woman had recently started working a new overnight shift.
Oddly enough, no glass was broken.
She must have been driving very slowly and triggered the sliding door sensors… Can you imagine looking over and seeing a car waltz into the store?
Joe Caldwell made a predictable PR statement about the incident:
“We are taking this matter very seriously and are grateful that neither customers nor associates were injured in this incident. We are fully cooperating with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on this active investigation and defer any updates to them while details are still being determined.”
