Sensible gun policy makes sense, but banning guns outright makes no sense at all, just as our current gun laws make no sense (easier to buy a gun than to drive a car, no training/license required, etc.). The NRA and their thugs will use stale arguments trying to convince you that “liberals are trying to take your guns away.” They’re only saying that so dumbasses will give them more in donations. Fear is a wonderful catalyst.
Nobody’s going to take your gun rights away. Shut the fuck up and listen to each other. America is so polarized over this, but only because of ego. Many of the loudest people on both sides (ban all guns, give more guns) are just full of themselves and want to be right and want to have all the answers. We don’t know how to fix everything, let’s just admit that and move forward. With that assertion we can start a proper conversation.
Do not lose focus of what we’re exploring. We’re looking for ways to make this nation safer. We’re looking for ways to prevent mass shootings and violence. We also must not infringe on the second amendment. It’s a tricky topic, but as humans evolve socially we become more adept at fixing our fucked up nature.
