Where the fuck were all these corporations when being gay was against the law? Why didn’t they make their logos rainbow-colored when police were arresting, beating and killing people for how they dress, or for their sexual preferences?
Now that being gay is legal federally, corporations can safely capitalize on that market of consumers. This post is a simple reminder that ALL THOSE CORPORATIONS ARE FULL OF SHIT.
It took throwing bricks at cops during the Stonewall riots to arrive to where we are now in society. It took many people getting arrested, and fighting in politics to finally gain these new facets of liberty (that are still under attack). Rebellion against oppression is the only way forward towards liberation. Pride month should not be exploited by the greedy cowards who sat back and watched fellow humans abused, harassed, imprisoned and killed while saying nothing, or even worse, while cheering on the violence and bigotry. Pride month should honor those who are brave, those who are supportive.
