White Supremacist Site Offers Memes to Help Republicans Spread More Nonsense

republic-of-florida-flag-rof

“Stop arguing with liberals, Just spread memes,” says the Republic of Florida, a so-called “white civil rights organization.”

Instead of offering facts or having a logical debate, ROF provides an arsenal of misinformation to “meme” annoying liberals with. If you don’t agree with someone’s point of view, just shut them up with this collection of straw man arguments, cherry-picked data, and worse. This is low level trolling, and they even admit these abysmally stupid memes are “not so much memes but quotes from prominent ROF members.”

This isn’t really surprising, considering that low-quality, extremist, sensationalist and conspiratorial news is overwhelmingly consumed and shared by Republicans, according to a University of Oxford study.

The Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz is a member of the Republic of Florida. In his Instagram photo he proudly wears his MAGA hat, though ROF does not officially support Trump, because they “do not have any desire to be part of the United States” and want Florida to secede into a new country, a “white ethnostate.”

“Are you guys violent?” asks one of the headlines on their FAQ, to which they answer, “The short answer: Yes.”

They do allow “in theory” a nonwhite to join their group, though it’s not “a free pass to race mix.” If any people of color try to join, let us know how it goes.

There’s a lot of nonsense on their website republicofflorida.wordpress.com. It’s pretty hilarious but also a little depressing. The ADL recognizes them as a white supremacist group, which is pretty obvious if you read their site.

Speaking of nonsense, people are politicizing the Parkland tragedy already, but not just Americans. Of course you have a few nuts on either side here saying “ban all guns” and “we need more guns in school,” but those people are either just trolls getting paid to say stupid things, or they’re really just that delusional.

Russia allegedly seized the opportunity to exploit and divide. After the shooting, Russian bots spread nonsense about gun control “to amplify the loudest voices in that fight, deepening the divisions between us.” And it’s working, because (most) people are really f*cking stupid and easy to trick.

Don’t be stupid. Don’t hate anyone.

Hating people is stupid and accomplishes nothing. No one is perfect. Just be decent to each other, as the good Floridians know that is the answer to many of life’s endless questions.

That being said, if Florida were to actually succeed at seceding, and become it’s own country, the news coming out of that country would be fucking amazing.

We could suggest country names like “Florida World,” or perhaps “The Floridian’s Republic of Florida…” Please write your suggestions in the comments.
