PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Pasco County woman was charged with attempted murder after deputies say she set her estranged husband’s bed on fire while he was sleeping in it.

James Brennan, age 58, told investigators that he is estranged from his wife Eva Brennan, age 48, who no longer lives with him at his home in New Port Richey.

James said that on Wednesday, a female was visiting his house when Eva stopped by. During her visit, Eva told him she was angry that another woman was at the house. Eva left the house in the early evening and then James went to sleep in his bed. Full Story »

A former Florida escort convicted of trying to hire a hit man to murder her newlywed husband was sentenced Friday to 16 years in prison, perhaps ending a drawn-out case that drew notice for its startling videos and salacious characters.

Circuit Judge Glenn Kelley imposed the sentence on Dalia Dippolito, who was convicted last month of solicitation of first-degree murder. She was recorded on video and audio in 2009 as she plotted to have Michael Dippolito killed, telling an undercover detective she was “5,000 percent sure” she wanted her husband dead. Full Story »

Florida Teen Kills his Nudist Grandma and Drives Around in a Minivan With her Dead Body

A teenager killed his grandmother in a bloody struggle inside her home at a nudist community in Lutz, Florida and then drove around with her body in a minivan for nearly five hours, authorities said.

Brandon Machetto, 18, had been living with his grandmother, 74-year-old Sylvia Schmitt, for the past several weeks and they apparently fought frequently, said Pasco County sheriff’s spokeswoman Melanie Snow.

A neighbor called authorities after seeing Machetto drag a wrapped bag with feet dangling out from the home – Paradise Lakes Condominium Association nudist community in Lutz – into his grandmother’s minivan early Monday, police said. Full Story »
