This Monday marks the end of Leesburg Bikefest (known simply as “bahk fast” by the locals). It involves motorcycles, alcohol, ass & titties, hair metal bands, and lots and lots of cheap beer. Doctors and lawyers come from all over to cosplay as renegade bikers. Locals show up and party. Dealers show up and sell meth and cocaine. Vendors sell expensive cheap beer. Hippies and locals sell weed. Old hair metal bands go on stage with oxygen tanks. Bikini contests take place. Copious amounts of alcohol and carnival food are sold. Bikes ride up and down Main Street. It’s pretty fun.
Needless to say, the arrest affidavits are always interesting during these times. Here’s just about everything from Lake County this past weekend, put into a very brief format (City – Charges – Extra details). It’s pretty sloppily written, but there were a shitload of arrests and we’re short staffed. Enjoy!

According to an arrest affidavit, police received a call that the woman, later identified as Mandy Deane Jones, 36, of Leesburg, was running around without clothes, had flagged down a passing SUV and jumped in the back seat. By the time officers arrived, Jones was running around shirtless in the yard of her neighbor’s Layton Street home.
The driver of the SUV said Jones stopped her, slammed herself on the hood of the car and then opened the door and jumped in the back before she could lock it. The woman said Jones lunged for her purse but instead grabbed a water bottle, then jumped of the car.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene said Jones admitted she had taken methamphetamine in the last two hours. Full Story »

The Villages, a hilariously-large retirement community in Florida, is the fastest-growing “city” in the country—with more than 117,000 people, 48 golf courses, geriatric sex (with a resulting high rate of STDs), and absolutely no children (they’re only permitted to visit for up to 30 days a year).
Residents primarily drive golf carts, with some luxury models costing up to $25,000; others were tricked out last year in support of Donald Trump. In 2005 the corporate-owned and fake-historied community set the world record for longest golf cart parade—perhaps surpassed by only the 100-meter dash as the world’s most prestigious record—with 3,321 carts.
But earlier this week in The Villages, there was news of another kind: A drug bust, followed by the discovery of a possible golf cart chop shop. Sumter County sheriff’s deputies and a SWAT team raided one Villager’s house Wednesday morning, after complaints from residents; there, they arrested five people on drug charges—including sale of methamphetamine and possession of heroin. One man was charged with the real-sounding crime of “unlawful use of a two way communication device.” Full Story »
