Panhandle Man robs Bubba’s Pizza with his 5-year-old son

Kevin Armstrong

A Tallahassee man is in custody after police say he robbed an Apalachee Parkway pizza joint with his 5-year-old son in tow.

Kevin Armstrong, 34, has been charged with burglary of an unoccupied structure, grand theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and drug possession. He was arrested by Tallahassee Police Monday and remains in the Leon County Jail on $20,500 bond.

Armstrong was seen on video at Bubba’s Pizza as he forced his way into the business’s back door at about 3 p.m., according to court records.

He was later located at his apartment less than a mile away where toilet paper stolen from the restaurant as well as other items reported missing were found. Officers also found Armstrong with prescription pills.

Reviewing surveillance video, TPD investigators saw Armstrong attempt to enter two other businesses before getting into the pizza shop.

They also saw his son on video carrying what they believed to be tool boxes, according to court records.

“It was evident that the child was instructed to cover his face at one point as they were passing one of the obvious surveillance cameras,” investigators wrote in their report.
