Sebring (WTFF) – A Florida man was arrested after reportedly performing a castration on a willing participant.
74-year-old Gary Van Ryswyk is facing a second-degree felony of “practicing medicine without a license resulting in bodily injury,” according to a press release full of puns, released by the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office.
The story begins on Sunday, when just before midnight, a deputy responded to a home on Orday Road after a 911 hang-up.
Van Ryswyk answered the door and told the deputy that he had “just performed a castration on a man.”
In the press release, it’s noted that “Van Ryswyk had dropped the ball on this one,” as deputies found the man lying on a bed “with a towel over his groin, which was bleeding heavily.”
The room he was in “was set up like a surgical center with medical equipment and painkillers.” There was also a camera set up to record the procedure.
A pink container nearby held two testicles.
The fresh eunuch was taken to the hospital, and is now in stable condition.
Van Ryswyk told deputies he had met the victim on a “dark web” site for people who have a castration fetish.
He told the “victim” that he had experience on animals and had even removed one of his own testicles in 2012. The pair tried to perform the procedure last week, but something came up when trying to sanitize the area, so the kinky operation had to be delayed.
A few years ago “in a local motel,” explained Van Ryswyk to the deputies, he performed a similar procedure that “turned out pretty much like this one.” The castrated man went to the hospital, but never notified the cops. Van Ryswyk couldn’t remember the man’s name.
The unlicensed surgeon was arrested and his bond was set at $250,000.
