CAPE CORAL, FLA – Two Good Samaritans stopped a man who tried to steal a young woman’s purse from a Cape Coral Publix.
“I mean I went up there just for a few seconds to grab some sushi,” said Zach Bucher, who lives just a few blocks away from the Publix at Camelot Isles off of Cape Coral Parkway.
Bucher and another marine chased down Marshall Barker while he was trying to flee.
“He was yelling that he didn’t do it and I was like ‘yeah right, why are you running’,” said Bucher.
The duo didn’t let Cape Coral Parkway get in the way of taking down Barker.
“We ran him down and took him down over by the Circle K,” said Bucher. Full Story »
DAYTONA BEACH — A Daytona Beach man is banned from Volusia County beaches for six months after the mother of a teenager told officers he was giving out a business card that read, “Sugardaddy seeking his sugarbaby.” Full Story »
An angry customer trashed a Chick-Fil-A restaurant and it was all caught on camera Monday evening.
This all went down at the Chick-fil-A located at 14020 Lunar Drive in the River City Marketplace, Jacksonville, Florida.
The video shows two women yelling at employees, and when another customer yells back, one of the women tosses condiments all over the floor.
The women were using bad language and scaring some children that were inside the restaurant.
In the police report, an employee told officers one of the suspects was complaining and trying to get refunds and free food. Full Story »
The MAC Cosmetics counter at Macy’s in the Orlando Fashion Square Mall saw Black Friday-esque chaos Saturday when it gave away free lipstick.
The event was part of the makeup store’s companywide campaign celebrating National Lipstick Day, according to MAC. It gave away full tubes of its lipstick to early birds willing to maneuver through the mall before the store ran out.
But things got ugly at about 12:30 p.m. when some women reportedly cut in line, ticking off those who’d been waiting their turn. A fight broke out, and police were called to the store for a report of a “general disturbance,” according to the Orlando Police Department. Full Story »
GREENACRES, FL (WSLS) – A South Florida man was arrested on aggravated assault charges after he armed himself with a machete and a baseball bat during a dispute with his son about a hedgehog, authorities said.
Homer Stacy II, 53, was walking outside his Greenacres home Sunday, pushing a wheelchair with a baseball bat and a machete on the seat when deputies arrived, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report.
When deputies asked Stacy why he had the items, Stacy said they were “for his protection,” the report said. Full Story »
This brings the statewide total to 90 known cases of the virus contracted in 2017.
The individual’s partner recently traveled to Cuba, after which he or she fell ill with symptoms consistent with those associated with Zika. Both the person who traveled to Cuba and their partner tested positive for the virus, which can be transmitted by mosquito or sexually.
So far this year, there is no evidence of transmission of Zika by mosquito in Florida, the Health Department said.
The department did not disclose a more specific location of the people infected but said that mosquito spraying has been intensified in the area. Full Story »
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (WKRG) — A Florida Man used a beach umbrella to hit another Florida Man who brought a gun to the beach, and it was all caught on camera.
“This is what happens when you bring an umbrella to a gun fight,” wrote Wes Woodin in a post online.
Apparently, the man with the gun had gotten into an argument Monday with a group on the beach over a child’s toy.
“It was over a $2 inflatable octopus, and I guess he had gone under their tent and taken it,” Woodin told News 5. Full Story »
